I recently finished my photostory for the Bambicrony Bella contest!! Definitely better than other photostories I've tried to do, although the text editing was just done quickly. So now I have three entries, Beauty: Little Ladybug, Cosplay: Follow the yellow brick road, and Photostory: Crysanthemum Goes to School. =D After this contest is over, I'll have new photo shoots to post.

On a side note, I am lusting after a Little Fee Ante so much. I can't resist that cute face and amazing posing while still being large enough to sew clothes for. Oh Fairyland - I really thought I was content with my family of two! My birthday IS coming up, though... >.>;

A fairies (crash) landing

I don't like these photos much, but I want to share a little story of how Chrys got here. ^^

Chrys: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Chrys: Why hello there!
Mae: Excuse me!? WHAT are you doing here exactly? Besides interupting my lovely summer day (OK, it's not that lovely, it's terribly hot...), intruding on my photoshoot and messing up my brand new kimono?

Chrys: Oh no! That's not what I'm supposed to be doing at all. Are you angry?
Mae: ::fumes:: Do I LOOK happy to you?

Chrys: Hmmm...I guess...not really?

Mae: ::blushes:: (She is so cute!)
::sigh:: Tell me. Why are you here?

Chrys: My name is Chrysanthemum, and I'm a fairy apprentice. ^^
Mae: Chrysanthemum? ::snicker:: That's quite a long name you have.
Chrys: Isn't it just wonderful! The fairy elder has sent me here for my training. Once I prove myself, I can become a full-fledged fairy and earn my wings! =D Won't that be great? I can't wait! Anyways, I need a home to stay in for some time... ^^

Mae: ::laughs:: He sent you HERE? He must not like you very much... You won't be staying with us, not over my dead body! Last thing I need is a little twerp fairy midget buzzing around!

...And so she was adopted into the family. ^^

This was my first time really making a kimono...I based it off a borrowed Simplicity pattern (which I don't think is very correct lol) and it came out too bulky under her arms causing the obi to sit I think a little too low. ::sigh:: but it is cute. I should make something prettier for her hair (she can't really wear her default poof curl wig with this either)... also I want to make her a little fan. ^^

Happy Birthday Mae!
She's been with me for two years now. ^^
I was too busy during that time to do anything for her birthday last year like I wanted to. =(

Still not totally complete, but...bwah she is so cute I had to post pics! The arrival story can wait. xD
I was worried we weren't bonding, but it's amazing what little things like restringing and a new faceup can do for a doll. ^^

Chrysanthemum was never the best or brightest fairy apprentice. But she's a spunky girl who never gives up! She was sent here for her training, and hopes to earn her wings and become a full-fledged fairy soon. Sweet and playful, there is never a shortage of trouble for her to get into!

The cool thing is, I made her outfit entirely out of scraps and things I already had lying around. ^^ It's surprisingly cute considering.

The eyes, which is like her third pair, are not working at all...WAY too dark and don't take in the light. =( They don't even look purple-ish! For a while I didn't like the wig, because it's practically a bowl cut with pigtails, but it's growing on me. It's kind of cute - I can just see the other fairies teasing her for having a bowl cut. ^^ Of course she still needs eyelashes and shoes! But isn't her faceup darling? =D

I need to take pics of Mae's new outfit, but I feel so sick and it's HOT. x.x

So Chrys' head, after getting her faceup, was returned to sender. ;.; I don't know how long she'll take to get here now. What a pain!! I am guessing this has something to do with my moving to a new apartment and not having my name in the mailbox yet since I *JUST* moved here.

So~ since certain friends have been bugging me for pictures of the new girl, here she is! I didn't want to post pictures since she is not ready, but here is a quick sneak peak plus some thoughts/ramblings.

Her name is Chrysanthemum. Yes I know it's long but it's from my favorite children's book. ^^ Everyone can just call her Chrys though. I'm not going to type that long name all the time, either!

She is in dire need of a new faceup, but the artist I want isn't available just yet. So it will be awhile. Her face must have been sealed with Testor's or something, because it's horribly dirty, and she has brown around her eyes making her look ugly and sleep deprived! (I shopped it out) But I know once that is fixed she will be one of the cutest Kumi's around. ^^

I got those pink Souldoll eyes just for her but EEK! the color was a bad choice! I am going to try light purple. But due to finances, I will wait on those, since I want to get Enchanted Doll eyes for both her and Mae. Birthday? =3

Wig is CUTE, and I plan to keep it on her, but frizzies need to be tamed obviously. It started out with longer pigtails but I cut them to look like this.

She is a hybrid on a Fantasy Doll body, which is very...long and thin. I would eventually like to get the cute stubby Bambicrony body she belongs on, but again, money. Head doesn't fit quite right either, but I think once she is restrung tighter that might fix the problem.

Her character is a fairy, and she needs wings! The only shop I want to buy from is closed. ;.; So those must wait. If I can find the materials (mainly fantasy film) locally, I could try making fairy wings myself?

The dress was something I made in five minutes so she wouldn't be naked. LOL expect cuter things on her in the future. =3 One of these days I will make Mae a Shinku costume and Chrys a Hina Ichigo one!! =D

So Miss Mae isn't forgetten, here is one quick shot I took of her for a wig sale that came out really well! I'll do a shoot of her decora outfit soon. As cute as this wig is, short hair doesn't suit this princess.

I've bought fabric for a yukata for her! ^_^ I have read the info Yukiko posted about kimono, and a borrowed pattern, so hopefully I can figure it out. Also I splurged and bought her a Volks outfit. =x I just wanted the blouse, honestly.

I do have some pictures from the BJD fashion show at SabotenCon, and I'll be attending the July 20 meet at Dana Park, but only with Mae.

Long time no posty on Mae's journal!

For some time I did not have a camera, but there shall be more pictures soon. I have a much better one, now!

Thanks to Mr. Tax Return, I was able to buy my second dolly! She shipped today!! =D YAY! Finally I will have a tiny and Mae will have a little sister. ^_^ You'll just have to wait to see who it is!

Now, if only a doll meet would fall on a date I'm NOT doing something else already. I may just have to organize my own since I haven't been to one since last summer!

Everyone going to SabotenCon should enter their dolls in the BJD Fashion Show that Yukiko is running! I am making a new outfit for Mae to show off and this will be a really cool event to see! =D

I kind of disappeared. x.x Well I'm back!! Saturday I went to my first Arizona doll meet! It was big, though it wasn't a shock after the doll meets at the Texas cons I've been too (AnimeFest and A-kon) and I know there are LOTS of doll owners here. Except for getting lost...it was nice. ^^ I only knew two people, tasu and D, and I admit to following around tasu and mostly just playing with her and my dolls. xD There were lots of cute ones there though! I'm just shy about talking to strangers and definitely asking if I can pose their dolls. ^.^;

I forgot to get new camera batteries so wouldn't you know my camera died before I got many pictures. :( They were taken indoors and need quite a bit of editing, and I'm busy getting ready for Anime Expo ::coughstylingcosplaywigscough:: so I'll post them after the con, along with a shoot of Mae's new strawberry dress and any doll pics I may take at the con. ^^

I snagged that fur wig for just $1 at the swap meet xD It's a perfect fit! I think it'll go better with casual outfits than a frilly dress like this though. After I get a couple paychecks, I fully intend to buy her some new wigs and eyes for her birthday come August. ^^

It's Mae picspam time! =B Long overdue, I know, but I've been really busy with school work and I finally have day off so I can post these! ^^

Despite looking uber snazzy in her school uniform, Mae doesn't want to go to school.

But she cheered up when I showed her her new backpack! ^^

Waiting for the bus...she thinks she's much too high class for public transportation. ;p

I may have gone overboard with accessories, yes. Raiding dollar store jewelry is fun. =3 She looks kind of kogal sans the tan. XD;;

Haha you can tell she uses him more than they are really good friends. XD Being able to talk to animals is useful.

The photos aren't fantastic, I know, I had to rush and the conditions weren't superb either. Also, we wants new eyeballs. I haven't been too hot on how her defaults have been photographing, like..ever. Their being assymetrical bugs me too, but the color is pretty much what I wanted.

Yay Mae should be getting her pretty wa-loli dress from tasu soonish. ^^ I feel bad since I haven't had time to sew for her lately. ;3; She feels neglected, I know it. :(

Also's there's going to be a meetup at Ikkicon next weekend. =D Yay I get to see timeless_rose again and meet all her new members! There hasn't been much chatter on the forums so I doubt it will be huge again like AnimeFest's, but hopefully it'll still be cool. ^^

Sorry if my Photoshawpin sucks. This is pretty much my first try at anything beyond resizing. I'm so lucky it snowed right before I was going to photograph her in this outfit! Especially since shoving her into the snow is the only way she can stand in those boots. ::grrr::
